UP BY OVER 17% IN JULY 2002
INDIA'S
FOREIGN TRADE: APRIL-JULY, 2002-2003
India’s exports during April-July,
2002-2003 are valued at US $ 15865.31 million which is 15.17%
higher than the level of US $ 13775.00 million during April-July,
2001-2002. In rupee terms, the exports were Rs.77597.09 crore,
during April-July, 2002-2003 which is 19.94% higher than the value
of exports during April-July, 2001-2002.
Exports during July, 2002 are valued
at US $ 4041.43 million which is 17.74% higher than the level
of US $ 3432.64 million during July, 2001. In rupee terms, the
exports were Rs. 19707.41 crore, which is 21.79% higher than the
value of exports during July, 2001.
India’s imports during April-July,
2002-2003 are valued at US $ 17747.34 million representing an
increase of 0.22% over the level of imports valued at US $ 17708.00
million in April-July, 2001-2002.
Oil imports during April-July, 2002-2003
are valued at US $ 5383.00 million which is 1.12% higher than
oil imports valued at US $ 5323.23 million in the corresponding
period of last year. Non-oil imports during April-July, 2002-2003
are estimated at US $ 12364.00 million which is 0.17% lower than
the level of such imports valued at US $ 12384.77 million in April-July,
2001-2002.
Imports during July, 2002 are valued
at US $ 4644.19 million registering a decline of 5.65% over the
level of imports valued at US $ 4922.46 million in July, 2001.
In Rupee terms the imports increased by 4.37% during April-July,
2002-2003.
The trade deficit for April-July,
2002-2003 is estimated at US $ 1882.03 million which is lower
than the deficit at US $ 3933.00 million during April-July, 2001-2002.
