An exhibition of "Traditional Lamps"
was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Basanagouda
R. Patil here yesterday. The exhibition is open till November
27, 2002, focuses on lamps lit on the occasion of different rituals
and ceremonies. Some special artefacts are being exhibited which
are directly related to Deepawali such as Rangoli, picturisation
of traditional toys etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Patil said the
National Crafts Museum will soon be expanded to include more craftsmen
and more crafts will exhibited. Shri Patil also went round the
Museum where more than 22,000 artefacts have been displayed. Sale
of artefacts will also take place during the exhibition.
