PAWAN HANS PAYS Rs.8.25 CRORE AS DIVIDEND TO GOVERNMENT


Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited today paid Rs.8.25 crore to the government as the dividend for the year 1999-2000. The dividend cheque was presented by the Chairman and Managing Director of PHHL Shri N.V. Sridhar to the Civil Aviation Minister Shri Syed Shahnawaz Hussain here today. The total dividend outgo of the Company for the year is Rs.10.52 crore. Shri Sridhar pointed out that the Company will pay Rs.2.27 crore to the ONGC as dividend.

Complimenting the Company for its record of paying dividend, the Minister hoped that PHHL should improve its image. He said Director General Civil Aviation is examining a proposal whether to allow single engine helicopters to fly VIPs.

Shri Hussain pointed out that between January and October this year, 263 hoax calls have been received out of which 3 calls only led to detection of bombs. He said, the number of such calls have however come down substantially after phones with Caller ID were installed.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Shri Sripad Yeso Naik, Secretary Civil Aviation Shri K. Roy Paul and other senior officials were present.
