HHEC PRESENTS DIVIDEND CHEQUE


A dividend cheque for Rs.276.40 lakh was presented to the Union Textile Minister, Shri Kashiram Rana, here today by the CMD of the Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation of India Ltd. (HHEC). This is the fifth consecutive year for which the Corporation has paid dividend. This is the highest ever dividend paid by the Corporation, which is Rs.40 lakh more than that in the previous year.

HHEC is a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Textiles and a leading trading house engaged in exports of handicrafts, handlooms, ready-to-wear garments, carpets, jewellery, and imports of bullion, timber, cotton and mulberry raw silk. During the year 2001-2002, the Corporation has achieved a turnover of Rs.333.94 crore. In terms of profitability, the Corporation achieved a net profit of Rs.3.01 crore.
