RAILWAYS SELECT 289 STATIONS AS MODEL STATIONS TO STEP UP AMENITIES

Indian Railways have so far selected 289 stations across different Zonal railways as Model Stations to provide upgraded passenger amenities. The thrust area for provision of upgraded amenities at these stations is those amenities which have direct interface with the travelling public.

Improvement in waiting rooms, booking offices, retiring rooms and circulating area, provision of National Train Enquiry System (NTES), Self-printed Ticketing Machines(SPTM), conversion of stall into modular stalls and provision of ‘Pay & Use’ toilets will be some of the highlights of the amenities available in these stations .
