RAM NAIK LEADS INDIAN
DELEGATION TO G-15 SUMMIT
Shri Ram Naik, Minister
of Petroleum & Natural Gas is leading the Indian Delegation
proceeding to Venezuela to attend the XII Summit of G-15 being
held at Porlamar, Margarita Island. The XII summit meeting on
29th and 30th October 2002 has the theme
"Energy and Development" and will be preceded by meetings
of Energy Ministers on 26th October and Foreign Ministers
on 27th October. Bilateral Meetings of Indian Delegation
with other sister-delegations are also expected to take place.
G-15 set up in
1989 is the summit level group of developing countries which aims
to promote North South dialogue in order to bring balanced benefits
to developing countries in Trade, Investment and Financial flows
and provide access to environmentally sound high technologies.
Today there are 19 countries comprising G-15, which are Algeria,
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran,
Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Senegal, Sri
Lanka, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
