BEL DECLARES 50 % DIVIDEND

Dr VK Koshy Chairman and Managing Director, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) presented a cheque of Rs 30,34,48,000/- to the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes as a part of Government share of dividend. The BEL the Premier Defence Public Sector Undertaking and pioneers of the Professional Electronics, has declared an all time high dividend of 50 per cent for the fiscal year 2001-02. The dividend paid during the fiscal year 2000-01 was 40 per cent. BEL is one of the select Public Sector Undertakings which has been declaring dividend consistently.

BEL, the first Defence Mini Ratna, Public Sector Undertaking, reached its highest ever turnover of Rs. 1942 crores in 2001-02, with an after tax profit of Rs. 200 crores. The previous year’s turnover was Rs. 1715 crores with profit of Rs. 155 cores.
