INDO-CHINESE AGREEMENT
ON COKE IMPORTS
India,
the second largest consumer of Chinese metallurgical coke, has
recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with seven
authorized Chinese companies for hassle-free import of the key
item for India’s iron and steel industries.
Under the agreement,
India has agreed to source Chinese metallurgical coke only from
seven authorized Chinese firms. The seven companies are the China
Metallurgical Import and Export Hebei Company, the China National
Coal Industries Import and Export Group Corporation, the China
North Industries Corporation, the Minmetals Townlord Technology
Company, the Shanghai Coking and Chemical Corporation, the Shanzi
Minmetals Industrial and Trading company and the Sinochem International
Company.
