INDIA TO HOST 14^th BOARD MEETING OF COMMONWEALTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT FORUM (CLGF)

The fourteenth Board meeting of Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) is beginning from 21^st Oct. 2002. Representatives from 10 countries namely, United Kingdom, Namibia, Ghana, South Africa, Canada, Newzeland, Jamaica, Malaysia, and the host country, India would participate in this two day meeting. Union Minister for Urban Development, Sh. Ananth Kumar, Minister of State ,Sh. O.Rajagopal, M/o Local Government of South Africa Excellency Sydney Mufamadi and Minister of Local government of Ghana, Excellency Kwadwo Baah-Wireu will participate in the meeting.

The meeting is likely to deliberate on promoting democratic values and good local governance ,exchange of experience among local government practitioners, strengthening local government capacities and maintaining common- wealth wide network of local governments.
