LIGHT HOUSE TENDER VESSEL COMPLETED BY HDPE HANDED OVER

Union Minister for Shipping, Shri Ved Prakesh Goyal handed over the Light House Tender Vessel (Sagar Deep-II) yesterday at Kolkata which has been completed by Hooghly Dock and Port Engineers Ltd. at the cost of Rs. 49.95 crore to the Department of Light House and Light Ships. The Minister on this occasion also announced Rs. 2.5 crore interim relief package to workers on the eve of Durga Puja.

Shri Goyal said with revival of Hooghly Dock and Ports Engineers Ltd. (HDPEL) the relationship between workers and management had been made more and more cooperative as well as interactive. The objective of the Ministry of Shipping to revive this HDPEL was to procure more and more activities for the organization and in the same process the orders of ship building and ship repairs relevant to HDPEL has been reorganized.
