VICE PRESIDENT MEETS
PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE
Vice President, Shri
Bhairon Singh Shekhawat made a courtesy call today to Mr. Leonid
Kuchma, President of Ukraine. This is the first visit of President
of Ukraine since last ten years. The Vice President expressed
happiness over his visit and hoped that the visit will bring two
countries more closer to each other. This is also the 10th
year since Ukrain and India established political relations with
each other.
Vice President
of India and President of Ukraine expressed the view that both
the countries should also enhance the level of people-to-people
contact alongwith political relations.
President and
members of the delegation from Ukraine, the Minister of State
for Commerce and Industry Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the officials
of External Affairs Ministry, Ambassador of Ukraine to India and
Secretary to Vice President, Shri Anil Kumar were also present
on this occasion.
