VSP SALES TURNOVER UP 19 PER CENT
Visakhapatnam Steel
Plant (VSP) of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. has recorded a cash
profit of Rs. 399.83 crore during 2001-02 as against last year’s
cash profit of rs. 153.30 crore. Total sales turnover during the
year was Rs. 4080.95 crore as against last years Rs. 3435.96 crore
showing a growth of 19 per cent. The exports were at Rs. 326 crores
as against Rs. 314 crore last year, an increase of 4 per cent.
This was revealed yesterday in the Annual General Meeting of the
company.
During the year VSP
registered more than 100 per cent fulfillment in oven pushing
(112 per cent.), hot metal (112 per cent), liquid steel (113 per
cent) , billets (110 per cent), bars (119 per cent), wire rods
(112 per cent), MMSM products (126 per cent) and saleable steel
(114 per cent). It achieved remarkable growth in all the production
units as compared to the performance in 2000-01.
