TO VISIT KERALA
MEMORANDUM
ON DRAUGHT SUBMITTED TO SHRI AJIT SINGH
A delegation of three
Kerala Ministers led by the Finance Minister Shri K. Sankara Narayana
met the Union Agriculture Minister, Shri Ajit Singh here today
and submitted a revised memorandum seeking central assistance
to meet the draught situation in the State. Other members of the
delegation included Revenue and Law Minister Shri K.M. Mani, Labour
Minister Shri Babu Diwakaran and senior officials of the Kerala
Government.
Union Agriculture
Minister, Shri Ajit Singh told the delegation that the Government
has already decided to send a central team to assess the draught
situation in the State. The team will visit Kerala soon, he added.
Shri Ajit Singh also enquired about the extent of damage caused
to various crops by draught in the State. Secretary, Agriculture,
Shri J.N. L. Srivastava and other senior officials of the Agriculture
Ministry were present during the meeting.
