FUND ORGANISATION OBSERVES VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
The Employees Provident
Fund Organisation, EPFO, is organising various activities throughout
the country during the Vigilance Awareness Week which began on
Thursday. These activities will continue till 6th November
2002 and will include seminars, round table discussions, symposia
etc. which will focus on eradication of corruption. At present,
the EPFO has 2.76 crores subscribers. The EPFO has opened Vigilance
Cells in its various offices for direct interaction with the EPF
beneficiaries.
At a function at
the EPFO headquarters in the capital to mark the beginning of
the Vigilance Awareness Week, the Central Provident Fund Commissioner
Shri Ajay Singh said that the EPFO is in the midst of a major
reinventing exercise by utilising the latest IT technology. He
said this will enable the EPFO not only to provide an efficient,
convenient and world class service to its subscribers but also
a corruption free service.
