PRESIDENT'S ASSENT TO TWO BILLS
The President has
given his assent to the Appropriation (Railways) No. 2 Bill, 2002
and the Appropriation (No. 3) Bill, 2002. With this, these two
Bills, as passed during the Second Phase of the current Budget
Session of Parliament, have been notified in the Gazette of India
as Act Nos. 18 and 19 respectively of 2002. The two Acts have
come into force with immediate effect.
The Appropriation
(Railways) No. 2 Act, 2002 seeks to provide for expenditure of
both plan and non-plan development of Indian Railways from the
Consolidated Fund of India for the financial year 2002-2003.
The
Appropriation
(No. 3) Act, 2002 seeks to provide for budgeted expenditure both
plan and non-plan development for all segments of Government activities,
except Indian Railways, drawn from the Consolidated Fund of India
for the financial year 2002-2003.
