RENNOVATION OF ROURKELA STEEL PLANT

The total amount spent on Rourkela Steel Plant modernisation since 1998-99 is nearly Rs.555 crore. During 1998-99 Rs.279 crore was spent on modernisation. Next year Rs.170 crore was spent and during the year 2000-01, the Government spent Rs.66 crore. The amount spent during 2001-02 is Rs.41 crore.(Provisional). The Money has been properly utilised and modification of Hot Strip Mill and Reheating Furnaces No.5&6 have been completed, during this period.
