FILING OF RETURNS BY FOREIGN COMPANIES

Some foreign companies applied for condonation of delay in filing of statutory documents (annual returns, balance sheets and other documents) with the Registrar of Companies. The delay varies from some days to a few years. Section 611 of Companies Act, 1956 does not apply to foreign companies.

This information was given by the Union Minister of Law, Justice and Company Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitley in a written reply to a question from Shri M.V.V.S. Murthi and two other Members in the Lok Sabha today.
