BUDGETARY PROVISION FOR INVESTORS EDUCATION AND PROTECTION FUND

An amount of Rs. 3.00 lakhs was allocated for the Investor Education and Protection Fund during the year 2001-2002 out of which an amount of approximately Rs. 2.4 lakhs remained unutilized.

For the year 2002-2003 a budget provision of Rs. 3.02 crore has been made for the Investor Education and Protection Fund. The Fund will be utilized for investor education and awareness, and related activities.

This information was given by the Union Minister of Law, Justice and Company Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitley in a written reply to a question from Shri Kirit Somaiya in the Lok Sabha today.
