NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE ON HIV/AIDS AND WORLD OF WORK TO BE SET UP

A "National Resource Centre on HIV/AIDS and World of Work" will be set up in the VV Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI), Noida very soon. This was informed by Hon'ble Labour Minister Shri Sharad Yadav during his meeting with Dr. Peter Piot, Executive Director, UNAIDS and Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations here today. Shri Yadav & Dr. Peter Piot discussed the issue of HIV/AIDS and its implications for the national development. Shri Yadav said that the VV Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI), Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and the Central Board of Workers Education (CBWE) under the Ministry of Labour are doing a lot of work in research and training on HIV/AIDS. The National Resource Centre on HIV/AIDS will have all relevant information, literature as well as audio, video materials concerning HIV/AIDS. The Centre will also organise conferences and workshops for facing the challenge of HIV/AIDS. It will work as a Nodal Centre for the research, training publication and consultation concerning HIV/AIDS.
