CONVOCATION CEREMONY AT LHMS

In a glittering convocation ceremony, 158 successful graduates and postgraduates of the Lady Hardinge Medical College received their scrolls from the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. C.P. Thakur, here this evening. Awards for meritorious performance in various disciplines were also presented at the function. Awards were also given to employees for their exemplary services.

Dr. Thakur, in his convocation address, called upon the young doctors to develop good communication skill so as to enable them to interact well with their patients. He advised them to be kind and considerate to the patients. He said that there was need for making changes in the medical curriculum, as the medical graduates were not found competent to do laproscopy, anaesthesia, etc. This, he said, was because the examination system was more theoretical and not practical oriented.

Earlier, the Principal of the college, Dr. A.S. Bais, presented the report on the achievements of the college during the year. The Health Secretary, Shri Javid A. Chowdhury and DGHS, Dr. S.P. Agarwal also spoke on the occasion.
