MONGOLIA SEEKS INDIAN EXPERTISE FOR RESTORATION OF BUDDHIST SITES

    The Mongolian Minister for Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Mr. Tsanjid Ayurzana called on Shri Jagmohan, Minister for Tourism and Culture, here today along with a delegation and held discussions about bilateral cooperation in tourism and culture.

    The visiting Minister said that India and Mongolia both are known as land of Buddhism and have age-old cultural ties. He said Mongolia is very keen to upgrade cultural agreement signed in 70s and wants to have an implementation plan also to further cooperation. The Mongolian Minister said that his country is restoring Buddhist monuments and sites and India could contribute significantly in this field because of its well-known expertise.

    Welcoming the delegation, Shri Jagmohan said India would like to share its expertise in the area of archeology, library science and human resource development. He offered training facilities for Mongolians in India in various cultural related activities. The Minister expressed the hope that India and Mongolia would work together for multi-facet cooperation in the area of tourism and culture.
