CONDITION OF RAILWAY STATIONS IN NORTHEAST REGION

    To improve the conditions of the stations in Northeast Region, large number of passenger amenity works such as construction of Computerised Reservation Centre, retiring rooms, extension of passenger platforms sheds, additional platforms, provision of foot over bridges, improvement to waiting halls, provision of kota stone flooring at important stations, improvement to water supply etc. have been undertaken and completed. In addition, 12 stations in the Northeast viz. Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon, Srirampur, Kamakhaya, Guwahati, Lumding, Silchar, New Tinsukia, Jorhat Town, Dibrugarh Town, Dimapur and Dharamnagar have been nominated to be developed as model stations. Upgraded facilities as per laid down scale of Model Stations are being provided at these stations.
