STANDING COMMITTEE ON EXPORT OF FOODGRAINS

    Department of Food and Public Distribution (Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution) has set up an empowered Standing Committee on Exports in order to take expeditious decisions on matters relating to export of foodgrains. The Committee with Secretary, Food and Public Distribution as Chairman will have five Members, namely, Addl. Secretary & Financial Advisor; Managing Director, FCI; Managing Director, CWC; Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce (dealing with Agriculture/foodgrains related WTO matters) and Joint Secretary, FCI. Besides, the Committee may co-opt other officers as special invitees as and when required.

    The Committee will hold regular meetings for interaction with exporters and their representative bodies on the 10^th of every month in the chamber of Secretary (F&PD), Krishi Bhawan. In addition, meetings will be held as often as required to resolve issues relating to export of foodgrains.
