LAND DEVELOPMENT FUNDS TO UTTAR PRADESH, UTTARANCHAL, HARYAN, JAMMU KASHMIR, HIMACHAL PRADESH, SIKKIM, ORISSA

   The Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs. 416.90 lakh to Uttar Pradesh for various schemes implemented by Department of Land Resources, for the year 2001-02. It gets Rs. 247 lakh under Computerisation of Land Records, a centrally sponsored scheme, for 65 tehsils each tehsil getting Rs.3.80 lakh. For the project "Modernisation and Computerisation of Gazetteer Department" under the scheme for Strengthening of Revenue Administration & Updating of Land Records (SRA & ULR), the State gets Rs. 70.20 lakh. While Sonebhadra district gets Rs. 99.70 lakh under the Integrated Wastelands Development Programme (IWDP).

    The Ministry has also released Rs. 151.97 lakh to three districts of Uttaranchal for the current financial year under IWDP. Almora gets Rs. 53.65 lakh, Dehradun Rs. 48.82 lakh, Nainital Rs. 49.50 lakh. In addition, the Ministry has released Rs. 1.51 lakh to Central Soil & Water Conservation & Training Institute Dehradun for the project "Watershed Development – Research and Development Model for Development of Aganpur Bhagwasi Watershed in Patiala District, Punjab".

    Under IWDP, the Ministry has also released funds to the following States.

    Haryana, Rs. 111.71 lakh as first instalment for the districts of Panchkula (Rs. 63.03 lakh) and Ambala (Rs. 48.68 lakh).

Jammu & Kashmir, Rs. 68.64 lakh for Udhampur district.

Himachal Pradesh, Rs. 53.81 lakh for Kinnur district.

    Sikkim gets Rs. 22.13 lakh for Computerisation of Land Records and Orissa Rs.16.17 lakh for the project on "Development of wastelands through Agro-Forestry Model in Orissa".
