INDECENT DEPICTION OF WOMEN IN ADVERTISEMENTS DECRIED
The Minister of Information & Broadcasting Smt. Sushma Swaraj has expressed distress over the manner in which women are being depicted in the advertisements both in print and electronic media. Addressing the National Conference –Women and Media, organised by the Central Social Welfare Board of India, here today, Smt Swaraj said that the women mediapersons must debate on the role of women in the print media, radio, television, films and advertisements and put it in the right perspective to restore the dignity of women.
Smt. Swaraj also called for introspection by women mediapersons and also defining the attitude of media towards women and their role in the empowerment of women. The Conference in which woman mediapersons from all over the country are participating, will debate woman issues for the next three days.
