RS. 174.05 LAKH RELEASED TO RAJASTHAN AND

RS. 69.25 LAKH RELEASED TO PUNJAB WASTELANDS DEVELOPMENT

    The Ministry of Rural Development has released a total of Rs. 174.05 lakh to four districts of Rajasthan under the Integrated Wastelands Development Programme (IWDP) a centrally sponsored scheme, during the current financial year.

    Kishanganj block of Baran district gets Rs. 52.67 lakh as first instalment under the programme while Jaipur gets Rs.24 lakh for project IV and Rs. 22.50 lakh for project VI. Likewise, village Karnos Thoria of Ajmer district gets Rs. 14.29 lakh as its last instalment under the programme. Kota district gets Rs. 60.59 lakh, under the Employment Assurance Scheme – Watershed Component of IWDP

    Besides, State Farms Corporation of India ltd., Delhi get Rs 8.82 lakhs for the implementation of the project, ‘Reclamation of Waterlogged Area at Jetsar Farm, Rajastan" for the year 2001-02.

    The Ministry has also released a total of Rs. 69.25 lakh as first instalment to two districts of Punjab under the IWDP for the year 2001-02. Gurudaspur and Ropar districts get Rs. 25.92 lakh and Rs. 43.33 lakh respectively. The expenditure will be incurred on implementation of the scheme during the period of five years from 2001-02 to 2005-06 as per the watershed guidelines.
