SENIOR LEVEL APPOINTMENTS

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments:

1. Shri P. Shankar, IAS (TN: 66) presently in the cadre as Secretary, Planning Commission, vice Shri S. S. Boparai, IAS (PB: 64), superannuating on 30.6.2002.

2. Shri Subir Dutta, IAS (WB: 67), Secretary, Department of Defence Production and Supplies, as Secretary, Department of Defence vice Shri Yogendra Narain, IAS (UP: 65), superannuating on 30.6.2002.

3. Shri S. S. Dawara, IAS (PB: 67), Director of Enforcement, Department of Revenue, as Secretary, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, vice Shri P.M. Nair, IAS (AGMU: 67).

4. Shri P. M. Nair, IAS (AGMU: 67), Secretary, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, as Secretary, Department of Defence Production and Supplies, vice Shri Subir Dutta, IAS (WB: 65).

10. Smt. Vineeta Rai, IAS (AGMU: 68), Additional Secretary, Department of Urban Development, as Special Secretary, Department of Urban Development by upgradation of the post for three months as personal to her.

11. Shri S. K. Tuteja, IAS (PB: 68), Development Commissioner for Small Scale Industries, as Secretary, Department of Official Language, vice Shri M. Shankar, IAS (HY: 67).

12. Shri B. K. Misra, IAS (AM: 67) as Chairman, Staff Selection Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India upto the date of his superannuation as a measure personal to him and on contract thereafter, vice Shri K. M. Lal due to complete his tenure on 21.6.2002.
