UTILITY SERVICE
The services in the Bank Note Press, Dewas in
Madhya Pradesh will continue as a public utility service under
the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 for another six months with effect
from 1st July 2002. In a notification issued here,
the Labour Ministry said that this has been done in public interest.
The Central Government had earlier declared the services of the
Bank Note Press as a public utility service for six months from
31st December last year.
The employees in this industry, as a result,
would among other things be required to give notice to their employer

proceedings could be started. During the conciliatory proceedings
and seven days after their completion, the employees cannot go
on strike.
