FIRING CONTINUES IN LoC

Heavy exchange of Artillery and Mortar continued in Kargil and Drass Sectors between Indian and Pak troops on 17 Jun 2002. The exchange resulted in 02 Pak casualties and a bunker destroyed.

Indian troops resorted to retaliatory mortar and small arms fire in Naushera Sector resulting in damage to Pak posts.

Moderate exchange of fire continued in other sectors along the Line of Control / International Border in Jammu and Kashmir.

05 terrorists were killed while 02 terrorists surrendered to the Indian Army in various anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
