Hindi Salahkar
Samiti of the Ministry of Steel met here today under the Chairmanship
of the Minister of Steel Shri Braja Kishore Tripathy. The members
urged all concerned for concerted efforts to further project
the use of Hindi in the Ministry and in its Public Sector Undertakings
(PSUs). They appealed to the officials and employees to develop
a liking for Hindi as it is the only link language to ensure
integrity amidst all diversities in the Country.
The Minister said that the Steel Ministry is
taking all care to implement Hindi in its departments and in
the PSUs. Most of the employees have been trained under the
Hindi teaching scheme. The Ministry has taken initiatives to
popularize the language in the office work by observing Hindi
Day, Week and Fortnight and by arranging competitions among
the employees and awarding prizes. Every year the Ministry awards
three prizes of Rs.15,000/-, Rs.10,000/- and Rs.7,500/- to encourage
the publications of technical Hindi books, he said. The Minister
awarded the millennium shield to the Manganese Ore India Ltd.
(MOIL) in recognition of its continuous good work in the field
of implementing Hindi in the office.
The Minister gave away the 2000-01 first, second
and third prizes to Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited (FSNL), Bhilai,
Bharat Refractories Limited (BRL), Bokaro and MECON Ltd., Ranchi
respectively. The 4th prize for the non Hindi speaking
areas was given to Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd. (KIOCL).
Shri Rao Rohtash Singh, Section Officer in the Ministry of Steel
, received a medal for excellent work done to popularise Hindi.
The Members of the Committee including the Members of Parliament
and Hindi literatures and senior officials of the Ministry attended
the meeting.
