ALUMINA AND ALUMINIUM EXPORT DURING MAY MORE THAN TARGET

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) exported 129,548 MT of Alumina against the target of 90,000 MT during the month of May 2002. The Aluminium export was also exceeded by 380 MT during the month. The export during the month was 9680 MT whereas the target for the month was 9300 MT. Net generation from Captive Power Plant during the month was 351.04 MU against the target of 348 MU.

Gross Sales turnover during the month of May was worth 237.66 crores whereas the target for the month was 209.23 crore. The net profit after tax assessed was 53.38 crore against the target of 28.15 crore.

The production of aluminium during the month was 19,305 MT which was about 195 MT less than the fixed target. The calcined alumina's production during the month was 118,800 MT against the target of 125,000 and bauxite production was 370,108 MT against the target of 410,000 MT. The total metal sale including transfer to project during the month was 17,543 MT whereas the target for the month fixed was 18,000 MT.
