REVISION IN KEROSENE DEALERS' COMMISSION
Based on the
recommendations of a Committee of the Marketing Directors of the
Oil Companies and Executive Director, Petroleum Planning &
Analysis Cell, the Government has approved an increase in the
commission of wholesale dealers of kerosene by Rs. 35 per KL.
The dealers’ commission for wholesalers (with Form XIII) would
be Rs. 204 per KL and for wholesalers (other than those holding
Form XIII) would be Rs. 161 per KL, with effect from the midnight
of 4th/5th June 2002. This increase in the
dealers’ commission is of recommendatory nature and would serve
as guideline for the States/UTs in fixing the dealers’ commission.
It may be recalled
that with the dismantling of Administered Pricing Mechanism with
effect from 1st April 2002, the prices of all petroleum
products, except for PDS Kerosene and domestic LPG, have become
market-driven. Till the PDS Kerosene continues to be a subsidised
product, the fixing of dealers’ commission would be subject to
review by the Government.
The implementation
of aforesaid revision in dealers’ commission would result in an
increase by about 4 paise per litre in the retail selling prices
of PDS Kerosene.
