OF ADVANCE LIGHT HELICOPTER ENGINE

The Hindustan
Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has entered into a dialogue with M/s
Turbomeca, part of M/s Snecma Group of France to jointly develop
and produce an engine called the Shakti for the Advance
Light Helicopter to meet the requirements of the Army and the
Air Force. However the terms of the contract have not been worked
out as yet.
This information
was given by the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in a written
reply to Smt Renuka Chowdhury in Lok Sabha today.
