DUES PAYABLE TO EMPLOYEES IN CPSUs

The amount of outstanding statutory dues payable to the employees of Central PSUs as per available information, is Rs.1588.67 crore as on 31.12.2001 in respect of 72 enterprises. Other enterprises do not have any outstandings. These dues are pending in some cases, even for the retired and VRS optees, due to serious resource crunch of the concerned enterprises.

This information was given in the Lok Sabha today by Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises in a written reply to a question by Shri Basudeb Acharia and Shri Sunil Khan.
