APPROVAL FOR GREENFIELD PROJECTS BY CIL


RAJYA SABHA

CIL Board has approved six large Greenfield Projects for future costing Rs. 100 crores and above, which are now in different stages of approval by the Government. These projects are proposed to meet the coal demend of power projects being promoted by NTPC, M/s. Hindalco and of Hirma STPS being promoted by M/s Reliance Power and Power Trading Corporation of India Ltd.

The projects are Krishnashila OC (Northern coalfied Ltd.) with capacity of 4.00 mty and estimated capital of Rs. 785.11 crores, Bhubaneswari OC (Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd.) with capacity of 10.00 mty and estimated capital of Rs. 764.26 crores, Kulda OC (MCL) with capacity of 10.00 mty and estimated capital of Rs. 806.20 crores, Garjanbahal OC (MCL) with capacity of 10.00 mty and estimated capital of Rs. 595.22 crores, Basundhara West OC (MCL) with capacity of 2.40 mty and estimated capital of Rs. 194.21 crores and Kaniha OC(MCL) with capacity of 3.50 mty and estimated capital of Rs. 287.34 crores.

The said information was given in a written reply today in Rajya Sabha by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of State for Coal, Mines, Law & Justice.
