KIOCL BAGS GREENTECH INDUSTRIAL
SAFETY AWARD
Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd. (KIOCL),
a public sector undertaking of the Ministry of Steel has bagged
the Greentech Industrial Safety Award for the year 2001-02. The
Gold Award was instituted by the Greentech foundation, New Delhi.
KIOCL was selected for the award in recognition of its excellent
safety management system through regular inspections made by safety
officers and safety management committee.
The Company has introduced Emergency
Preparedness Plan as per ISO 14001 and undertakes periodical medical
check up of the employees. It has a tradition of safety practices
in the plants and in the operation activities both at Kudremukh
and Mangalore. The award was recently presented to the Company
by the Minister of Environment, Forest and Urban Development,
Government of Uttaranchal at a function held at Mussorie.
