NO MOVE TO SHIFT NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL FROM PMO

There is no move to shift the National Security Council from Prime Minister’s Office to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Reports appearing in a section of the press that the Government is considering placing of the National Security Council under the Dy. Prime Minister are without any basis. The Cabinet Secretary has clarified that this issue has never figured in the discussion that the Dy. Prime Minister had with him at any point of time.

The National Security Council continues to be in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister heads it as the National Security Adviser.
