GRANTS-IN-AID TO INSTITUTE OF CONSTITUTIONAL AND PARLIAMENTARY STUDIES


The Government has provided Rs.40 lakhs grants-in-aid to the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies during the current financial year 2002-2003 as against Rs.15 lakh grants-in-aid provided in 2001-2002, recording an increase of Rs.25 lakh over the previous year.

The Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies undertakes Parliamentary fellowship programme and diploma courses, Constitutional law and Parliamentary Institutions and Procedure, besides various projects relating to media coverage of Parliament, working of the committee system, major concern in the Constitution review, Parliamentary supremacy and judicial independence in India and Parliamentary privileges.

The Institute also brings out periodicals in Hindi and English. It has a library with a collection of over 8000 books on Constitutional law and Parliamentary affairs and provides specialized research and reference services to research scholars.
