SHRI NRIPENDRA MISRA TAKES OVER AS SECRETARY FERTILIZERS
Shri Nripendra Misra assumed office of Secretary, Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, here today. Shri Misra belongs to the 1967 Batch of the Indian Administrative Service with Uttar Pradesh Cadre. Earlier, he was Special Secretary, Department of Commerce and before that he was the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce.
He has held important positions in the Government of Uttar Pradesh including that of Principal Secretary (Information), Principal Secretary II (Home Affairs) and Principal Secretary (Finance). He has also been Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister from 1990 to 1992. He has also been Minister (Economics), Head of Economic Wing, Embassy of India in Washington D.C. As far as some special assignments are concerned – Shri Misra has been Consultant to Asian Development Bank for Bangladesh Fertilizer Project, Member, Taxation Enquiry Committee, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Consultant to World Bank on Industrial Credit Project in Turkey.
