FUNDS RELEASED FOR NOAPS TO KARNATAKA, TAMIL NADU AND FOR NFBS TO KERALA

    The Ministry of Rural Development has released funds for National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS) to two states – Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, and under the National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) to Kerala. This is second installment of funds to these States under the respective schemes in the current financial year.

    In Karnataka, 22 districts get the second instalment of funds under the Scheme. The Districts are:- Bangalore Rural-Rs.118.56 lakh, Urban Dist.- Rs. 115.86 lakh, Belgaum- Rs. 47.55 lakh, Bellary –Rs. 41.22 lakh, Bidar- Rs. 26.36 lakh, Chickmagalur- Rs. 14.09 lakh, Chitradurga- Rs. 23.67 lakh, Dakshina Kannada- Rs. 17.88 lakh, Davanagere-40.44 lakh, Dharwad- Rs.19.66 lakh, Gadag-Rs.6.51 lakh, Gulbarga-Rs.119.00 lakh, Hasan-Rs.51.74 lakh, Kodagu-Rs.10.94 lakh, Kolar- Rs.83.95 lakh, Koppal- Rs.22.65 lakh, Mandya- Rs. 85.81 lakh, Mysore- Rs.68.37 lakh, Raichur- Rs.30.61 lakh, Shimoga- Rs.22.21 lakh, Tumkur- 50.91 lakh, Uttara Kannada- Rs.12.54 lakh.

    In Tamil Nadu 8 districts get the second instalment of the funds under the Scheme. They are :- Chengalpattu – Rs.50.64 lakh, Perambalur – Rs.33.49 lakh, Salem- Rs.57.33 lakh, Sivaganga- Rs.9.32 lakh, Tiruvannamalai- Rs.68.41lakh, Thiruvallur- Rs.42.50 lakh, Tiruchirapalli- Rs.48.47 and Villupuram- Rs.75.77.

    Under National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) component, Rs.66.32 lakh has been released to seven districts of Kerala. These are:- Kasargod- Rs.12.44 lakh, Kozhikode- Rs.20.72 lakh, Thiruvananthapuram- Rs.18.65 lakh, Wayanad- Rs.66.32 lakh, Alappuzha- Rs.12.44 lakh, Ernakulam- Rs.20.72 lakh and Kannur- Rs.8.28 lakh.

    In addition to this, the Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs.210.56 lakh towards second instalment to Erode district of Tamil Nadu during the year 2001-2002 under the Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) of the Restructured Central Rural Sanitation Programme.
