CENTRE DECLARES SERVICES IN INDIA GOVERNMENT MINT AND BHARTIYA RESERVE BANK NOTE MUDRAN LIMITED AS PUBLIC UTILITY SERVICE

    The Central Government has declared services in five units of India Government Mint at Noida in Uttar Pradesh, Cherlapally (Ranga Reddy Distt.) and Hyderabad,in Andhra Pradesh and at Calcutta and Mumbai as public utility service under the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 for six months with immediate effect. In separate notifications issued here, the Labour Ministry said that this has been done in public interest.

    The services in Bhartiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Limited at Mysore in Karnataka and Salboni in West Bengal which have also been declared a public utility service under the ID Act.

    The employees in these establishments, as a result, would among other things be required to give notice to their employer six weeks in advance of proceeding on strike so that conciliatory proceedings could be started. During the conciliatory proceedings and seven days after their completion, the employees cannot go on strike in these units.
