STEEL MINISTER RELEASES BOOK ON EGYPTIAN HIEROGLYPHICS

    The Minister for Steel Shri Braja Kishore Tripathy today released the book "Egyptian Hieroglyphics – A Beginners’ Guide" written by Shri M.K. Moitra, Director, Personnel of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Hieroglyphics is the ancient Egyptian Script in which pictures and symbols represent words or syllables. Record of these scripts is a treasure of knowledge about the ancient history and culture of Greeks and their pharaohs.

    Releasing the book, the Minister said that this is a rare attempt by an Indian to write a book on ancient foreign scripts. Shri Tripathy said that foreign scholars like William Jones and Max Muller had made lasting contribution to orientology by re-discovering the ancient Indian Scriptures written in Sanskrit. The book authored by Mr. Moitra would be an eye-opener to understand the great civilizations of the world.

    Presiding over the function, the Chairman SAIL, Shri Arvind Pande hailed the unique attempt made by Shri Moitra to prepare a Beginners’ Guide on ancient Egyptian Script amidst his varied engagements.
