INCREASE IN SAIL’S DECEMBER PRODUCTION
The production of saleable steel by the SAIL group during December, 2001 has been 8.67 lakh tonnes, agaist the target of 8.65 lakh tonnes for the month. Out of this BSP has contributed 2.84 lakh tonnes, DSP 1.25 lakh tonnes, RSP 1.30 and BSL 2.78 lakh tonnes. During the month ASP produced 6000 tonnes, SSP 7000 tonnes and VISL 8000 tonnes. IISCO contributed 27400 tonnes during the month.
During the period April-December 2001, the SAIL group has produced 72.77 lakh tonnes against a target of 76.23 lakh tonnes. All plants of SAIL produced 74.44 lakh tonnes of saleable steel during the same period of the year 2000.
