ARMY DAY DECORATIONS

    On the eve of Army Day, the Chief of the Army Staff has commended the services of five hundred officers, JCOs, ORs and civilian personnel in recognition of their devotion to duty, gallantry and distinguished services.

    The list of personnel awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card includes eleven from Armoured Corps, thirty five from Artillery, six from Air Defence Artillery three from Army Aviation, one ninety six from Infantry, Fifty two from Sappers, thirty two from Signals, thirty from ASC, seven from AOC, twenty seven from EME, thirty from AMC, Dental and Nursing Services, fifteen from Intelligence Corps, eight from RVC, three from CMP, two each from Pioneers, JAG and MES and one each from BSF, Presidents Body Guards, Army Physical Training Corps and Army Postal Services. The list of awardees also includes six personnel of GREF, one officer from Indian Navy, two policemen and twenty four civilians working in Defence HQ and other defence establishments.

    Out of the 500 awardees there are 300 officers from Army, Navy, Police, GREF and Civil branches. Remaining 200 are JCOs and Other Ranks including their equivalents in Para Military Forces and Civilian.
