PRESIDENT, PM GREET NATION ON MAKARSANKRANTI & PONGAL
The President, Shri K.R. Narayanan and the Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee have greeted the nation on the auspicious festivals of Makar Sankranti and Pongal, here today.
In his message, Shri Narayanan said, "may the auspicious festivals of Makarsankranti and Pongal bring well-being and prosperity to all the people of India".
In a separate message, the Prime Minister hoped that Makarsankranti and Pongal would usher in peace, prosperity and all-round development for all the citizens. May the spirit of the festivals impart unity and harmony to the nation, the Prime Minister added.
