    The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee today condoled the demise of leading space scientist and former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Prof. Satish Dhawan.

    In a message, the Prime Minister said that in Prof. Dhawan’s death, the nation has lost one of its foremost scientists whose unmatched scientific zeal was underlined by social commitments and keen awareness of the national requirements. The Indian Space programme bears a strong imprint of Prof. Dhawan’s penchant for development of indigenous capabilities and human values in the frontier areas of science, the Prime Minister added.
