FUNDS RELEASED TO ANDHRA PRADESH

UNDER IWDP AND IEC

    The Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Programme under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission, support the State Government for taking up IEC projects in selected districts. The main objective of the campaign programme is to inculcate hygiene sense and bring about a change in the attitude of the people towards water and sanitation.

    The Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs.96.07 lakh towards part of first instalment out the total approved cost of Rs.276.50 lakh to the four districts of Andhra Pradesh for implementation of Information, Education & Communication (IEC) activities. These districts are – Adilabad, Mehboobnagar, Kurnool and Ananthapur.

    The Ministry of Rural Development has also released an amount of Rs.11.25 lakh to Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh under the Integrated Wastelands Development Programmes (Employment Assurance Scheme – Watershed Component).
