SUSPECTED CASE OF PNEUMONIA AT PGI

NICD TEAM SENT TO CHANDIGARH FOR INVESTIGATION

    On receiving reports about a patient having been admitted at PGI, Chandigarh with suspected attack of pneumonia, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has deputed a team of experts from the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) for conducting investigation. The team comprises one Epidemiologist and one Microbiologist.

    The team will also visit other hospitals in Chandigarh as also the village to which the patient belongs. Advisory letters regarding precautions and other public health measures to be taken have been issued by NICD to the Governments of Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
