A Special Grade Alumina project of 26,000 TPY at Damanjodi at a capital cost of Rs. 56.78 crore based on technical knowhow from Alumina Technology Associates, USA has been commissioned during December, 2001. The plant is designed to produce a 24 grades of Special Hyderate and Alumina.

    A 10,000 TPY Detergent Grade Zeolite (Zeolite-A) Plant at Damanjodi at a capital cost of Rs.24.10 crore based on technical knowhow from Central Salt & Marine Chemical Research Institute, Bhavnagar licenced through National Research Development Corporation, New Delhi and with consultation services rendered by Engineers India Ltd. has been commissioned during July, 2001. The Zeolite production has already started.

    To assist in realisation of outstanding dues of Rs. 146.06 crores as on August, 2001, GRIDCO has agreed to liquidate the outstanding dues to NALCO by way of issuing bonds amounting appx. Rs. 154 crore on the condition that NALCO should supply 50 MU of power every month to them and withdraw all court cases against GRIDCO.
