RS.8503.52 LAKH TO RAJASTHAN FOR DRINKING WATER AND WASTELANDS DEVELOPMENT

    The Ministry of Rural Development has released a total amount of Rs.8503.52 lakh as development funds to the State Government of Rajasthan during the year 2001-2002. Of which, Rs.8483.52 is towards rural drinking water programmes and Rs.20 lakh for wastelands development project.

    Of the funds for rural drinking water, Rs.5566.58 lakh is towards second instalment for the centrally sponsored Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission (RGNDWM). Rs.2897.32 lakh has also been released towards second instalment under the ARWSP- District Development Programme Areas. The released funds also include Rs.19.62 lakh for Monitoring and Investigation Units under ARWSP. ). District Rural Development Agency Jaipur gets Rs.20 lakh under the centrally sponsored "Integrated Wastelands Development Programme" (IWDP).

    The Ministry has also released a total amount of Rs.55.54 lakh to the State Government of Gujarat. Of this, Rs.41.25 lakh is towards organising training programme for revenue staff of the State under Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Computerisation of Land Records (CLR). Rs.14.29 lakh has been released to the District Rural Development Agency, National Tree Growers Cooperative Federation Limited Anand district of Gujarat under IWDP.
